Published On: January 6, 2021

We are excited to usher in 2021 by welcoming back chiropodist Kaitlin Boven. Kaitlin spent 2020 on maternity leave, caring for her newborn daughter Harper. Kaitlin will be working in our clinic on Tuesdays (including evening appointments), Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Routine Foot Care & Ingrown Toenails

Kaitlin has her Master’s degree in Diabetes, a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Podiatry and is a Registered Chiropodist. Kaitlin is a professional foot care specialist, experienced in routine foot care, treating ingrown toenails and performing nail surgery. She also treats other ailments of the feet such as fungal nails and plantar warts.

Diabetic Foot Care and Ulcer Management

Kaitlin’s interests lie in diabetic footcare and education.  Kaitlin has an in-depth knowledge of diabetic wounds, neuropathy and its effects on the feet. She is passionate about ulcer management and stays current on innovative wound care treatments. Kaitlin is one of the few in Ontario trained and skilled in Total Contact Casting. Total Contact Casting is a technique used to facilitate the healing of a diabetic foot ulcer. A custom cast is applied, conforming to the shape of the foot. It is designed to redistribute weight off the foot ulcer, creating a chamber just right for healing. If you would like to learn more about Total Contact Casting, please give our office a call and let us answer any questions you may have.

Please join us in welcoming Kaitlin back! Book an appointment with Kaitlin so that she can expertly assess and care for your feet.
